Nadi Shodhana or Alternative Nostril Breathing is a simple way that anyone can bring a sense of calm and balance into their day.
As the name suggests it involves inhaling and exhaling through alternate nostrils as a means of balancing yin and yang energy in the body. Yin energy has masculine qualities such as being energetic, focused, directive, goal-oriented and is aligned with the left brain and right nostril. Yang energy has feminine qualities of being nurturing, receptive, relaxing, going inwards and is aligned with the right brain and left nostril.
Balance of mind comes from having feminine and masculine energies balanced and nadi shodhana is one way to assist gain a sense of balance.
