It is easy at this time of year to start focusing on the end of the year, Christmas parties, present buying and taking a break from work.
It is easy to consider a goal and then mentally put it off until “The New Year”. As if 1 January will somehow be a magical date that will overcome your resistance, lack of motivation or lack of clarity. There really is nothing magical about the 1st of January that will change anything that is stopping you from doing what you know you need to do.

How often have you thought as Christmas season starts that you won’t bother with your weight or fitness goals now because it will be too hard when you have to go to end of year parties?
Well last week I started an 8 week program of healthy eating and supplementation to get my hormones in order. I generally eat healthy and keep active but I have let things slide a little. A little too much sugar, a little too much alcohol, a little too much processed food. At nearly 50 it is important to create an optimal physical and mental state so that menopause and the lead up to it can be a non-event.
Stress, processed food, alcohol, digestive problems all impact on your hormone levels. So I figured I needed to do a bit of a re-boot.
It would have been easy to say ‘oh I will wait until after all of the end of year celebrations’ but really…why? I will be sticking to my program 95% of the time and when there is a party I will enjoy a couple of drinks and nice food and then be back on track the next day. It is not a big deal. I don’t have to be perfect to see results.
In fact it has only been a week and I am sleeping so much better, feeling calmer and am not feeling constantly fatigued.
Why would I put this off until January ??
